What Are Meta Tags?

Meta tags are HTML elements that provide information about your page to:

  • Search engines
  • Social media platforms
  • Browsers

Essential Meta Tags

Title Tag

The most important meta tag:

  • Shows in search results as the clickable headline
  • Appears in browser tabs
  • Set in Settings > General > Site Title

Meta Description

Summarizes your page content:

  • Shows in search results below the title
  • Influences click-through rates
  • Set in Settings > General > Site Description

Keywords

Help categorize your content:

  • Set in Settings > SEO > Keywords
  • Separate multiple keywords with commas
  • Focus on relevant terms

Open Graph Tags

What is Open Graph?

Open Graph (OG) tags control how your site appears when shared on:

  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Other social platforms
  • Messaging apps

Setting OG Image

  • Go to Settings > SEO
  • Find Open Graph Image
  • Upload an image
  • Recommended specs:
    • Size: 1200 x 630 pixels
    • Format: PNG or JPEG
    • Include your brand/logo
    • Add compelling text overlay

    What OG Controls

    When someone shares your link, they'll see:

    • Your OG image
    • Site title
    • Description
    • Site URL

    Twitter uses similar tags to show rich previews:
