Domain Troubleshooting

Having issues connecting your domain? Here are solutions to the most common problems.

Domain Not Connecting

Check DNS Propagation

DNS changes can take 24-48 hours to propagate worldwide. Use an online DNS checker to see if your records have updated.

Verify Your Records

Common mistakes include:

  • Wrong IP address
  • Typos in the record
  • Using the wrong record type
  • Conflicting records

Remove Conflicting Records

If you have existing A or CNAME records for your domain, remove them before adding the Framekit records.

SSL Certificate Issues

Certificate Not Provisioning

SSL certificates are automatically generated once your domain connects. If it's been more than 24 hours:

  • Check that DNS is properly configured
  • Try removing and re-adding the domain
  • Contact support if issues persist
  • Mixed Content Warnings

If you see browser warnings about insecure content:

    • Ensure all images and resources use HTTPS
    • Check for hardcoded HTTP links in your content

Site Not Loading on Custom Domain

    Check Domain Status in Settings

Go to Settings > Domains and verify:

    • ✅ Connected
    • ✅ SSL Active
    • ✅ Live

    Ensure Site is Published

Your site must be published to your Framekit subdomain before a custom domain will work.

    Clear Browser Cache

Sometimes browsers cache DNS information. Try:

    • Opening in an incognito/private window
    • Clearing your browser cache
    • Trying a different browser

    WWW vs Non-WWW

    Redirecting Between Versions

If www.yourdomain.com works but yourdomain.com doesn't (or vice versa):

  • Add A records for both @ and www
  • Both should point to the same IP address
  • Still Having Issues?

    If you've tried everything above:

  • Double-check all DNS records
